Forget expensive and difficult-to-work with granite counter tops! I want concrete counter tops in my next kitchen or bathroom redesign. Not only is it easier to work with and more sustainable/green/better for the environment, but it’s also a lot cheaper! And creating something a bit more unique won’t hit your pile of cash so hard as long as you’re willing to put some in work yourself.

There are nearly unlimited finishes that can be applied to concrete to mimic wood or variations of natural rock, but I prefer the raw appeal of leaving the finish nearly unaltered.

“when you have new gods, you have to get rid of the old ones.”

-Kluas Schmidt, one of the many archeologists who excavated this astonishingly intact structure theorized to be a Temple.

This once-in-a-hundreds-of-lifetimes find is momentarily disestablishing the story books of the evolution of man. In preliminary research, this Temple is said to be the oldest structure ever found, but further intricate research is required to really decide on whether this upheaval will become permanent.

Just to convey the prominence of its age: “The ruins are so early that they predate villages, pottery, domesticated animals, and even agriculture – the first embers of civilization.”
