Awesome picture taken by Daniel Herbertson at Dream 12 of Sakuraba in his bout against Zelg Galesic. Galesic, who’s very well decorated in taekwondo and muay thai, must have punched Sakuraba in the head 69 times in a row, but Sakuraba took the beating and held onto that leg for a win. Makes sense, since Sakuraba, a crowd favorite, is after all, considered as a God in Japanese MMA.
His list of opponents defeated include, and not limited to: Royce Gracie, Ryan Gracie, Royler Gracie, Renzo Gracie, Ken Shamrock, Rampage Jackson, Vitor Belfort, etc.
I gave it away, but this a MUST watch.

With a mma record of 19-2, Georges “Rush” St-Pierre has been the reigning pound for pound champion for quite some time, beating all contenders in his weight class as well as the new and improved BJ Penn, who jumped up a weight class just to fight the champion.
Let’s disregard his douchey ed hardy/affliction out-of-the-ring style, and look at all the mega details that makes this Welterweight champion so appealing to the fans.
This “170lb” is well versed in Kyokushin Karate, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, AND trains with Olympic level wrestlers. His vast knowledge of stand up AND ground combat techniques mixed with his extreme athleticism makes for a very exciting fighter. BJ Penn is regarded as one of the toughest opponents in the entire UFC to take down, but GSP was able to put the fight on the ground with ease.
That fight actually drew a lot of controversy and excitement to the MMA world and UFC, as the two champions in their respective classes were given an opportunity to face off.
And as you can probably guess from the picture prior to the one above, GSP was able to defeat the elusive BJ Penn with relative ease.
GSP fought Matt Hughes on several occasions on US soil, and each of these fights had the crowd behind Hughes chanting “USA! USA! USA! USA! USA!” But unfortunately, the fanatics of America were abruptly disheartened by the likes of:
If you’re still not convince of GSP’s current supremacy, here are two photos from his most recent fight with Thiago Alves, one of the most feared strikers in the UFC.
Ouch.
GSP’s newest challenger is Dan Hardy who carries a persona of a bad boy with very heavy hands. It’ll definitely be an interesting fight, but I’m confident that the outcome will be very similar to all the photo’s above. This fight will be the main event at UFC 111, which occurs this Saturday, March 27, 2010.
Back to the original question, Canadian bacon sucks and is there anyone else from Canadia that Americans like???
Jon ‘Bones’ Jones, one of my favorites, and Brandon ‘The Truth’ Vera will be facing destruction in battle today. These two highly entertaining fighters create great anticipation for an excellent match as both posses uncanny striking abilities and love to put on a great show by landing blows that make even the toughest fans cringe.
This fight airs tonight on channel Versus at 9pm pacific.
